COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Due to the nature of hospitality industry, internal control procedures are of extreme importance both for revenues and expenses. The course is aimed to equip students with knowledge concerning recording revenues and expenses under Uniform System of Accounts, supported with Internal Control perspectives. Later, the emphasis will be on Departmental Income Statements, Consolidated Income Statement, and Balance Sheet. Eventually, students will be able to analyze the operational results using various ratios, for the ultimate purpose of prompt decision making and internal control.

Throughout the course, class discussions, involving case studies, fictual or real situations seeking solving uncommon problems would be emphasized.

·         Failing to attend less than 75 % of the whole lessons will automatically mean that a student will not permitted to be seated at the midterm examination, final examination or both exams.

·          Prior to any class session, students are supposed to read the topics that will be taught by the instructor. Failing to do so will cost you some points out of the participation, if not all the points.

·          No late homework, project, or assignment is accepted. A Zero (0) would be attributed to late work.
